I'm Done

I mean, I really am done. A week ago today, I inked the final page of Paleo: Loner. This means for me that there is no more here to do, other than the production work of the Paleo book. This includes getting printing quotes and scanning all the art and all the preparation and design work that will make the book print ready. This part I don't get paid for so I'll try to get it knocked off in little bits between now and when the orders come in.
So- I'll collect the unemployment for awhile and see what happens. I've agreed to teach some summer classes for 2 places in town that offer programs for kids, so there is that. It's been unusual being at home, but I'm getting some long delayed chores done. I'm not expecting that I'm going to blog anymore- if something of an artworthy nature pops up then I most likely will want to talk about it but it seems like my life is going to go in a different direction, at least for now.

For this last post, I wanted to put up the colored cover for Loner.

Thanks everybody.

  4. Good luck with everything, Jim. If we won't be seeing any more blog posts until you find more opportunities to make a living off of your art, then I hope we see some more posts very soon. I'll miss seeing you at the NYCC this year!

  7. I was planning on saying what 'Mikeandraph87' said. Crap. It's sad to know this will be your last entry... Of all the blogs I subscribe to this is the one I anticipate posts from the most. I wish you well in the future with keeping yourself entertained, employed, happy, & hopefully, artistically stimulated. I am however very happy to see that some new paleo work will be available in the near future, painted beautfully mind you. I know for a fact that I will get more commission work from you in due time, I look forward to obtaining the money/concept to make it a reality. Cheers to the blog & a 'new beginning' even if it is forced by 'fate' so to speak. One last thing, you've talked about doing childrens books in the past, pertaining to dinosaurs specifically if I remember correctly... You think you'll try to pursue it? Good luck with all of your endeavours & I hope you return to the blog with commissions & the occasional tidbit of news. With fan-love, Dennis "Powder" Kennedy.

  8. A long time ago, art sought you out and chose you. Although you may need a rest to refresh and regroup, I don't think it it is quite done with you yet. So take a break, there's no harm in that but please don't ignore when it calls again. It will.

You're still my hero and you're still a badass.

  19. I've just seen the cover to Tales #70... terrific and brilliant in the old school style. Everyone is going to be missed. After the coming chaos of another SDCC, I may quite likely ask for a commission...
