I asked for one of Eric's too, but don't take it personally, Jim. It's only because I already have art from you and nothing from Eric, but I was totally planning on getting issue #31 with a sketch by you, assuming you guys are doing this again then.
By the way, any idea what's up with Eric's blog? All of a sudden, it says that you can't view it without an invitation... Strange.
Nacho-- I expect that I will do sketches for a limited number of each issue from this point on, that is if there are requests for them. I hadn't really counted on having to do so many- it's probably my own fault for doing a somewhat involved sketch but I wanted to do something nice. What I'm trying to say here is that if the demand continues at the rate that it has been I might make the decision to adjust my sketch to a head sketch type thing. We'll see. Daniel- as for Eric's blog. I think you'll have to ask him yourself or perhaps he may make some kind of announcement, but as I understand it I think he wants to step back from the blog thing for awhile.
I like the consistent sketches. That way everyone will get the same thing, and you don't have to search forever for the one sketched comic you wanted. I saw some of Eric's on Peter's blog and he had one Casey Jones and then tons of turtles. Whoever gets Casey will be a lucky fan
I just got mine today. The sketch and the book look awesome Jim. I'm really looking forward to #31 and 32 and the Donatello mini-series. Keep up the good work. Oh and my letter got published. Yay!
Any reason you did the same pose over and over? Is it easier to draw because you are used to it, or did you just want to keep it consistent so that no one ended up with a "better" sketch than someone else?
Daniel- Yeah, the reason that all the poses are all the same is- 1.) it's quicker for me just to do a consistent pose and not to have to come up with a different design for each comic and 2.) if they're all the same, hopefully it eliminates the possibility of someone, say, getting a Don when they wanted a Raph, for instance. EvilUrges- I talked to Katie who handles the comic orders. Requests for a Pete signed book sold out in a few hours. Eric and I are still available. There is a small possibility that Pete may sign a few more so perhaps try again if that's what you want.
Are there any copies of this book left?! I ordered #29 and received it signed even after the point where you guys stopped signing them. Is there a chance of getting #30? I can't access the comics section on the ninjaturtles.com website.
I ordered one of those. I'm looking forward to getting it. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome. Can you draw that pose with your eyes closed yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about just getting it made into a stamp.....
ReplyDeleteWoah, was only expecting to get a head sketch, but that's pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to (hopefully) getting one, too.
Amazing! Cool pose, by the way ))
ReplyDeleteThough, I order one with Eric's sketch...
Eric and I are having a contest to see which one gets more requests.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Well, there's my Leo solo sketch I was wanting haha. We know whats next...
ReplyDelete-r
Jim, r u going to do some sketches for next issue?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen what Eric's looks like. Did he post it on his blog?
ReplyDeleteI'll throw your contest off. I asked to be surprised with either a sketch by you or Eric!

Ok, thanks for the info, Jim.
ReplyDelete-->> ..there's that amazing consistency between the sketches again.
ReplyDeletePete noticed that too...
ReplyDeleteThe sketches are wonderful ! I can't wait to receive mine in France : )

ReplyDeleteP.S. Full body sketches is a really nice touch as well. Shows how much time was put into it. I am sure everyone that gets one will greatly enjoy them.

ReplyDeleteJim,
ReplyDeleteAny way you guys are selling more. I just missed the order for them and they are all sold out...
Way to not use the internet for a few days.

Jim- Thanks for the response, I misread the post over at tmnt. I requested one with one of your drawings, so hopefully I will be getting it next week.
ReplyDeleteJim, I got my copy with your wonderful sketch. I just wanted to say Thank You! I love it.
